Meet T.E. Market
Weston and Hanna Gilreath
Shortly after getting married in March 2023 we developed a burning passion to help others improve their health through food while supporting our local agriculture producers in the upstate SC area. We both grew up surrounded by farmland in upstate SC and graduated Clemson University in 2018. Our personal health journey started with us and our desire to live healthier happier lives, and heal some of our chronic illnesses. Over time we were able to reduce inflammation to help our bodies naturally heal without medication, learn about the bills being passed in the country that directly impact our health, connect with our agricultural producers, and develop the ability to share our story with those around us. The vision of T.E. Market is to help the local community by providing access to current research findings within the holistic health community, make it easier to buy local non-toxic food and housewares, while strengthening our agritourism within Anderson, SC.
Todd Edward (T.E.) Gibson
As our vision started to take life in the form of a farm market we were tasked with thinking of a name. It did not take long to settle on T.E. Market named after Hanna’s dad that we lost in February 2024. Todd was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer at 51 and after a long battle went ahead of us earlier this year. He and Hanna always talked about the idea of opening up a small business and connecting with the community through food and faith. It was clear that the name should reflect the person that inspired the entire business plan.
Through his 3.5 year cancer battle Hanna started to look around and see how prevalent cancer rates were in the U.S. and how those without cancer were being plagued by autoimmune disease. This prompted her to utilize her research background and dive deep into what has happened to our food, air, soil, medications, and water sources that could be contributing to these increasing rates. From this research emerged the realization of the critical need for the products that we carry in T.E. Market to be widely accessible.
